That's it from today's coverage of the Olympics. Tomorrow (Saturday) India would hope for a fourth medal from shooting with Manu Bhaker playing in the women's 25m pistol final. Later in the day, boxer Nishant Dev will compete in the men's 71 kg quarter-final. A win will assure him a medal.

Top seed Djokovic, still seeking an elusive Olympic title to sit along his 24 Grand Slam crowns, defeated Lorenzo Musetti 6-4, 6-2 in a tense semi-final at Roland Garros.

That there you have it! The match tennis fans around the world was hoping for. Novak Djokovic defeats Italy's Lorenzo Musetti to set up a blockbuster men's singles final against Carlos Alcaraz.

Meanwhile, Djokovic is just a game away from sealing a final berth in the tennis men's singles

Toor's third attempt is also not being considered.  He is all but out of the qualification race.

Tajinderpal Singh Toor has not been able to make a legal attempt in his second throw. His qualification chances look bleak. 

The men's shotput qualification has also started and India's Tajinderpal Singh Toor has fallen behind in the race to the final. His first  throw is 18:05m.  The qualification mark is 21.35m.

All athletes meeting the Qualification Standard (Q) or at least 12 best performers (q) advance to Final

Novak Djokovic has won the first set 6-4 against  Italy's Lorenzo Musetti (11)  in the men's singles semi-final. A win here will see a blockbuster men's final between Djokovic and Alcaraz.

One event remains for India today: 

Bad news from athletics, Parul Chaudhary and Ankita Dhyani have failed to qualify for the final in 5000m. Parul finished 14th while Ankita ended on the 20th spot in qualification.

Lakshya Sen inched closer to a maiden Olympic medal after becoming the first Indian male shuttler to advance to the semifinals with a thrilling three-game win over Chinese Taipei's Chou Tien Chen at the Paris Games here on Friday.

The 22-year-old from Almora, a 2021 World Championships bronze medallist, combined pace with precision and held his nerve during key moments to emerge 19-21 21-15 21-12 winner against world number 11 Chou, a 2022 World Championships bronze medallist in an intense quarterfinal battle.

Lakshya has won the second game 21-15 as the men's singles quarter-final enters the third game.

World number one Iga Swiatek claimed bronze in the Olympic women's tennis on Friday, a day after her 25-match Roland Garros win streak came to an end.

Four-time French Open champion Swiatek of Poland eased past Slovakia's Anna Karolina Schmiedlova 6-1, 6-1 in an hour of one-sided action on Court Philippe Chatrier.

USA take the first set against Germany in the second semi-final of the mixed team event. As things stand, India will take on the Germans in the Bronze medal match. We are guaranteed two new medallists. In Tokyo, Korea won the gold, while Netherlands and Mexico took home silver and bronze, respectively. Korea are already guaranteed a medal this time

Paris Olympics Live: Archers Dhiraj Bommadevara, Ankita Bhakat beat Spanish pair to enter mixed team semi-final. They are now one win away from confirming a medal. They will face either South Korea or Italy in the semi-finals. This is the first time that India have reached the semi-finals at Olympics in the mixed team event.

Spain take the third set to make it 3-3 in this archery mixed team quarterfinal. Poor from Ankita Bhakat to only manage an eight in such a big match. Both teams had shared a point in the second set.

India's Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat take the first set against Spain's Elia Canales and Pablo Acha Gozalez. Dhiraj with a perfect 20 in the first set to secure two crucial points for India.

Harmanpreet Singh converts the penalty stroke to restore India's two-goal advantage. India lead Australia 3-1 in the third quarter. If India do manage to hold on, this will be there first victory over Australia at Olympics since 1972.

Indian Archers Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat will take on Spain's Pable Acha Gonzalez and Elia Canales in the Mixed Team quarterfinals. The match will begin shortly at the Esplanade des Invalides.

India are leading Australia 2-0 in the second quarter-final of a Pool B match. Abhishek opened the scoring with a neat finish from inside the box, before Harmanpreet Singh converted a penalty corner moments later. However, Australia are on the attack with just under 10 minutes left in the second quarter

Manu Bhaker qualifies for 25m Pistol Women's final at Paris Olympics after finishing 2nd in qualifiers. Hard luck for Esha Singh as she misses out after a below par shooting in the Rapid phase. Manu will now have the chance to win her third medal tomorrow.

Manu Bhaker is back in action now! Her Rapid stage gets underway and she shoots a perfect 100 in Round 1.

India, already through to the quarterfinal, face Australia in a Group B match. India are third in the points table after yesterday's loss to Belgium, while Australia are second.

Spanish tennis sensation Carlos Alcaraz will take on Felix Auger-Aliassime in the men's singles first semi-final. The match is expected to start at 5 PM. Later in the day, Novak Djokovic will take on Lorenzo Musetti in the second semi-final.

It's India vs Spain at 5.45 PM IST for a place in the Olympic Semi-Finals. Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat had defeated Indonesia's Arif and Diananda.

So, Esha Singh's have completed all her shots in Precision and Rapid. She is currently 15th with an aggregate of 581-17x. She has done her bit. She will now have to wait for the rest to complete their shots. But, as things stand, she is not going to the final.

Just a 97 and 96 from Esha Singh in the first and second round of Rapid stage. She remains 10th with an aggregate of 484. She needs to put on a better show in the last 2 rounds, because, as things stand, she is not in contention for a place in the final. 

Rapid round is underway! Esha Singh starts off with a perfect 40 in her first four shots. This will give her some confidence going into the second and third rounds, respectively. Manu's round will begin shortly as she is in relay 2.

Anant Jeet Singh Naruka has fallen behind in the pecking order after managing just 22 skeets in Round 2. USA's Vincent Hancock and Peru's Nicolas Pacheco Espinosa. 

Manu will hope to hold her spot in the Rapid round but Esha has amends to make. The Rapid stage begins at 3:30pm IST. The top eight after the completion of both stages will qualify for the final.

Astonishing from Manu! She has nailed all five of his shots to perfection in this final round of Precision. As things stand, she is second in the standings. If she keeps going on like this, she will soon take the lead

Manu starts off with scores of 97 and 98 in first two rounds of Relay 2 in Precision. She currently in top 10 as Esha Singh drops out, despite scoring 100.

After a long break, Manu Bhaker's Precision round begins. She will look to finish on a high after Esha's perfect 100 in the final round of relay. 

Anant Jeet Singh Naruka shot 23 of his 25 skeet rings in Round 1 of the men's qualification event. His position, however, is not clear with some shooters yet to complete their targets in Round 1. 23 out of 25 is a good start for India.

Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat beat Indonesian pair of Diananda and Arif 5-1 to reach the quarterfinals of the Archery Mixed Team event.

Badminton star Lakshya Sen will also be in action on Day 7. He will look to book his place in the semi-final of the men's singles event. Sen stormed into the quarter-finals with a straight-set 21-12, 21-6 win over compatriot HS Prannoy. 

Star shooter Manu Bhaker will be in action one more time after winning two medals at the Chatearoux Shooting Centre. She will be participating in the 25M Pistol Women Qualification (Precision) along with Esha Singh. The action is expected to start at 12:30 PM. 

First up on Day 7, Shubhankar Sharma and Gaganjeet Bhullar will be competing in Golf - Men's Individual Stroke Play Round 2.

Good morning and a very warm welcome to our Paris Olympics Day 7 blog. Plenty of shooting, archery and other action awaits us. Focus, however, remains on shooter Manu Bhaker, who will compete in the 25m Pistol Women's Qualification Precision. The 22-year-old has already won two bronze medals this term, one in individual event, and the other with Sarabjot Singh in the Mixed tie.
